Father's Day Cake

My grandmother used to make this wonderful walnut cake for my dad. Her cake was so good She would freeze it and send it in the mail at times when we didn't go to south carolina to visit.

I used a basic yellow cake recipe and added coarsely chopped walnuts and lots of vanilla. My grandmother cake was very chunky. It was full of local walnuts, very moist and just delicious. I decided to decorate the top with powered sugar just for fun. Overall it came out pretty good. My dad like it but I know that nothing beats grandma's.
