No lie, I'm not kidding. When I saw a you tube video on making shittake mushrooms taste like bacon. I had to try it for myself because I was not convinced.
Well, After trying the recipe myself. I can tell you guys it is True! Shiitake mushrooms can really taste like bacon. I'm mean real bacon. Pork! I was blown away. I see adding this to bake potatoes, salads, eggs, tofu there are so much possibilities and it's pretty simple to make. Watch the video here.

Ok, now you've confirmed it so it must be so. I'd like to try that. Makes me wonder about pork seasoning alternatives - use shitakes instead. Hummm...
