Great Idea for a handmade giveaway!

Pretty Neat!  Talk about win win situations. The clay studio in Philadelphia got a grant to pay ceramic artists to make handmade mugs to then giveaway.  The project goal is to raise the public's appreciation for the ceramic arts.  The clay studio is hoping to educate the public on how different and special it feels to use a handmade mug verse a factory made one.  Read full story here.

Also I finally photographed my new large Spinach Leaf SOUP MUGS.

Pottery Wheel Inspired Birthday Cake

This is Isabella's birthday cake.   She is 8 year old and really wanted to learn how to use the potters wheel.   I had the pleasure of teaching her and 9 of her energetic friends just that.  We all had fun and got our hands filled with clay.   What I loved the most about that day was this pottery wheel shaped cake.  That was awesome!!  I have to admit I didn't know what it was at first but when I realized it was a pottery wheel.  I thought to myself  how sweet is that!   Her parent gave her the most thoughtful gift that I know she will remember.

Jennifer Allen Ceramics

I love Jennifer Allen ceramic work.  I really love her new glaze colors and patterns.

I have been following her work for about 4 years now and I love where it's going.  I want this bowl set for serving chocolate ice cream.

Lovely teapot! The caramel glaze looks amazing! Yum
