Multi Grain Sourdough Crackers Experiment

I have been really wanting to make my own whole grain crackers. I love the taste of sourdough and I have been searching for a cracker recipe using sourdough.  Since  I couldn't find a recipe I like.  I decided to do a quick experiment.

I just made a wet dough using levain starter, teff flour , wheat flour, olive oil, sea salt and water.  I top the crackers with sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds and oats.  Overall it came out well.  The flavor is good but the texture needs work.    One of my favorite crackers are from Wasa.  I like the crispness and texture of those crackers.   I will continue perfecting this.  Surprisingly I'm almost there.  To be continued....

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Mmmm, we love crackers, but the recipe I use is quite time consuming. They are definitely a treat when I surprise everyone by pulling out the recipe, we usually eat the whole batch in one sitting! ;) (Another reason I don't make them more often!)

  2. That's so funny, Crackers can be dangerous. I just love crunchy snack foods. I like to bring crackers with me when I'm on the go.
